Some of the most iconic Strats of all time have seen their fair share of bumps, bruises, gigs, recording studios, accidental falls—think Steve Ray, Rory Gallagher, Hendrix etc., the list is too long to delve into. This 2013 Custom Shop 1957 Relic Strat captures the look and feel of those strats we are used to seeing our guitar heroes playing.
This Strat features a white blonde finish over an Ash body. The finish has been beautifully aged to give the guitar the looks and feel of a true vintage instrument. The maple neck is nice and chunky and sports a soft "V" profile that fits nicely in your hands—the aging on the neck is also a nice touch and gives it a smoother feel.
The pickups are Fender Custom Shop 50s-Style.We'll be honest, we aren't exactly sure if they're Fat 50's or '57 (yes, we looked, they aren't labeled)—either way—they sound fantastic and offer all of the vintage "quack" you'd want out of a Stratocaster. Pure vintage tonal bliss. If you're wanting a gig worthy, vintage vibey, "I grew up watching Hendrix live at Woodstock" Stratocaster without the hefty price tag of a true one made in 1957.. look no further. The original tweed G&G hardshell case with orange interior is included and is loaded with stocking stuffers. COA is included, but there is no spec sheet.
